Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Jana in the blockbuster film ‘Stree 2,’ has revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes story about his co-star Rajkummar Rao. During a recent interaction with Fever FM, Banerjee disclosed that Rao’s impromptu rendition of the hit song “Calm Down” by Rema in the film resulted in an additional cost of Rs 25 lakh for the production team.
The unplanned inclusion of the “Low Low Low” segment of the song by Rao was an on-the-spot improvisation, leading the filmmakers to purchase the music rights for this spontaneous performance. Abhishek humorously referred to it as “the most expensive improvisation in history.”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ continues to impress audiences worldwide, having surpassed the Rs 500-crore mark at the box office. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles.
Speaking about his experience of working with Akshay Kumar, Banerjee shared, “I had been waiting for that one day for probably 25 years of my life.” Banerjee, a long-time fan of Akshay Kumar, cherished the opportunity to share screen space with him.
