More than 24,000 Indian-Americans have registered to attend the upcoming “Modi & US: Progress Together” community event, set to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island.
Organized by the Indo-American Community of USA (IACU), the event has seen registrations from 590 community organizations across the United States, all signing up as “Welcome Partners.” Attendees represent a diverse cross-section of the Indian-American community, spanning various religious and linguistic backgrounds, including Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati, and more.
“We are committed to ensuring as many people as possible can participate in this historic event,” said a key organizer, noting plans to expand seating arrangements and coordinate with partners for optimal seat allocations.
The event will feature cultural performances and appearances by prominent Indian-Americans in business, science, entertainment, and the arts, alongside Prime Minister Modi’s address.
PM Modi’s visit to New York also includes an address at the high-level UN General Assembly session on September 26. This marks his first community gathering in New York since the iconic Madison Square Garden event in 2014 and the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston in 2019.
