Melania Trump’s Memoir Sparks Controversy Over Copycat Cover Ahead of Release

Melania Trump’s upcoming memoir, Melania, has stirred controversy even before its release, primarily due to its strikingly similar cover design to the fashion book Chanel Catwalk by French author Patrick Mauries. The memoir’s plain black background with the title in white font closely mirrors the aesthetic of the 2020 fashion book, prompting criticism and accusations of copycat behavior.

This isn’t the first time Melania has faced such allegations. In 2016, she was accused of plagiarizing parts of Michelle Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech for her own address at the Republican National Convention.

Promoting her book on social media, Melania described it as a narrative shaped by her experiences, challenges, and achievements. The memoir is set to be released on October 1, with her office touting it as “a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity, and defined personal excellence.”

However, critics were quick to pounce on the absence of her photo on the cover. Journalist Victoria Brownworth pointed out the irony of Melania, who had previously expressed disappointment over not being featured on a Vogue cover, choosing a minimalist design for her memoir. Others echoed similar sentiments, with some questioning whether this was another instance of plagiarism.

The stark, minimalist design has divided opinions, with some viewing it as trendy, while others dismissed it as uninspired. Despite the backlash, Melania’s memoir remains highly anticipated, with its release just around the corner.
