Tensions Rise in Hyderabad Following Temple Vandalism Incident

Hyderabad experienced heightened tensions on Monday after a man allegedly vandalized a temple in the Santoshnagar area. The incident has led to significant unrest, with local residents demanding a thorough investigation.

The accused, whose family claims he suffers from mental health issues, reportedly ransacked the temple in Santoshnagar. The situation escalated as a large crowd gathered to protest, blocking Rakshapuram road. The demonstrators, visibly agitated, chanted slogans and sang bhajans, calling for justice.

Hyderabad police promptly responded to the disturbance. Senior officials engaged with the protesters, offering assurances of a fair and impartial investigation. The crowd eventually dispersed after receiving promises from law enforcement. To manage the situation and prevent further escalation, additional forces from the Task Force and City Armed Reserve (CAR) were deployed to the affected areas.

The accused’s family has stated that he is under treatment for mental health issues at the Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda, Hyderabad. Authorities are considering his mental health condition as part of their investigation.
