Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s latest film, Stree 2, has taken the box office by storm, crossing the ₹300 crore mark in India within just nine days of its release. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror-comedy has been met with both critical and commercial success, further cementing its position as one of the year’s biggest blockbusters.
Stree 2 opened to a massive ₹51.8 crore and continued to draw large audiences throughout its first week. As of Day 8, the film had grossed ₹308 crore domestically, including earnings from Wednesday paid previews. On Day 9, the film added another ₹19.30 crore to its tally, bringing the total to ₹327 crore (nett) in India. The film has also performed exceptionally well on the global stage, with worldwide earnings reaching ₹456 crore.
Starring alongside Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, who have all been praised for their performances. IndiaToday.in rated the film 3.5/5, highlighting Rajkummar’s impeccable comic timing and Shraddha’s captivating portrayal of the mysterious Stree. The supporting cast, including Aparshakti and Abhishek, were also lauded for their significant contributions to the plot, with Pankaj Tripathi delivering some of the film’s most memorable lines.
Released on August 15, Stree 2 faced competition from Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein but emerged as the clear winner. The film’s success underscores the continued popularity of the Stree franchise.
