Nagarjuna Responds to Demolition of N Convention Center, Calls Action Unlawful
Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has expressed deep distress over the demolition of his N Convention Center by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) agency on Friday. The action, part of a broader crackdown on illegal constructions encroaching on water bodies and public lands, targeted the popular 10-acre event venue for allegedly violating land use and environmental regulations.
According to HYDRAA, the N Convention Center encroached upon 1.12 acres of the Tummidikunta lake’s Full Tank Level (FTL) and an additional 2 acres within the lake’s buffer zone. The demolition is part of the agency’s ongoing initiative to restore public lands and protect Hyderabad’s water bodies.
In response, Nagarjuna strongly condemned the demolition, stating that it was carried out unlawfully and without prior notice. The actor emphasized that the N Convention Center does not encroach upon any tank plan and asserted that the land is privately owned. He further revealed that the demolition occurred despite existing stay orders and clarified his intent to seek legal recourse.
“The actions taken by the authorities are unjust and have caused unnecessary harm. We will be pursuing all available legal options to address this matter,” Nagarjuna stated.
The N Convention Center has long been a favored venue for weddings and corporate events in Hyderabad, making the HYDRAA agency’s decision a significant and highly visible move.
