Bollywood veteran Sunny Deol extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team of Stree 2 for their resounding success at the box office. The horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, has taken the global box office by storm, nearing the Rs 500 crore mark.
Deol, whose own film Gadar 2 was a blockbuster hit last year, took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement. Sharing a poster of Stree 2, he wrote, “Congratulations to team Stree 2 for bringing heavy monsoons to the box office and cheer for exhibitors. Keep going,” along with a red heart emoji. His message reflects the industry’s collective relief and joy as Stree 2 continues to draw audiences in large numbers.
Stree 2 opened with an impressive Rs 51.8 crore and earned Rs 274.35 crore nett in just seven days at the domestic box office, including Wednesday paid previews. The film is on track to cross the Rs 300 crore nett milestone by the end of its first extended week and is poised to surpass Rs 500 crore gross globally by the end of its second weekend.
In its review, IndiaToday.in rated Stree 2 3.5/5, praising Rajkummar Rao’s comic timing, Shraddha Kapoor’s mysterious aura, and Pankaj Tripathi’s memorable dialogues.
