Mohsin Khan Reveals Heart Attack and Health Struggles, Urges Awareness on Fatty Liver Disease

Popular television actor Mohsin Khan, best known for his role as Kartik Goenka in Star Plus’s long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has revealed that he suffered a heart attack at the age of 31. In a candid interview with Pinkvilla, the 32-year-old actor shared that the heart attack was caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a condition he developed due to an unhealthy lifestyle.

“I hadn’t thought of going on such a long break,” said Mohsin, who took a hiatus after completing 1,800 episodes of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2018. “I planned for about a year and a half, but after that, I fell sick. I developed a fatty liver which caused a mild heart attack. I haven’t revealed this to anyone before. I was admitted for some time.”

Mohsin described how the condition affected his health and immunity, leading him to change hospitals three times during his treatment. “My immunity weakened. I fell sick every few days. Now, I am much better, and it is all under control,” he shared.

The actor emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particularly for those in demanding professions. “Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease happens when you don’t have a fixed sleep pattern, and don’t eat right; all this matters. I think the condition is quite common, but we need to stay quite conscious about it.”

Mohsin, who began his television career in 2016 with Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and has completed 10 years in the industry, urged others to be mindful of their health. “After starring in 1,800 episodes, I felt like taking a break. But then I fell sick, and it prolonged my break. Now, I am focused on recovery and health.”
