Andhra Pradesh’s Education, Information Technology, and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh, met with a high-level delegation from Foxconn at his residence in Undavalli on Monday, extending an invitation for the tech giant to establish a major “manufacturing city” in the state. This initiative aims to boost employment and industrial growth.

During the meeting, Lokesh proposed that Foxconn set up a comprehensive manufacturing city rather than just a single unit. He assured the delegation of full government support and facilities, emphasizing the state’s commitment to creating 2 million jobs for its youth. “Our goal is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a leading hub for high-tech manufacturing and innovation. We are prepared to provide all necessary resources and assistance for this ambitious project,” Lokesh stated.

Foxconn’s Indian representative, V Lee, expressed appreciation for the state government’s proactive approach and affirmed the company’s interest in expanding its operations in India. The representative highlighted Foxconn’s readiness to invest in sectors including electric vehicle manufacturing, semiconductors, digital health, and other high-tech industries.

Lokesh urged the Foxconn team to expedite their plans and begin the process as soon as possible. The meeting also featured contributions from Foxconn’s Director of the Chairman’s office, Senthil Kumar, Deputy Director Bharat Dandi, Manager Vector Chen, and IT and Electronics Principal Secretary Sourabh Gour.

This proposed manufacturing city represents a significant step towards enhancing Andhra Pradesh’s industrial landscape and generating substantial employment opportunities.
