Joe Biden Lauds Kamala Harris as Future President at Joint Event.

In their first joint appearance since President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, Biden praised Vice President Kamala Harris as a strong leader capable of becoming “one hell of a president.” The event, held at Prince George’s County Community College, marked a significant moment in the Democratic Party’s campaign.

Speaking to a crowd of nearly 2,300 attendees, Biden expressed his confidence in Harris, stating, “Kamala will be one hell of a president,” drawing enthusiastic applause. The event also celebrated a major achievement for the Biden administration: a newly announced agreement to reduce the cost of 10 widely used prescription drugs, which is expected to provide significant financial relief to millions of Americans.

Vice President Harris reciprocated the praise, highlighting Biden’s achievements in expanding access to affordable healthcare. “Few leaders in our nation have done more on so many issues, including healthcare, than Joe Biden,” she said.

The Biden administration’s drug pricing negotiations target high-cost prescriptions like Eliquis, Jardiance, and Stelara, with reduced prices set to take effect in 2026. These measures could save taxpayers $6 billion and Medicare Part D enrollees $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket expenses, with price cuts ranging from 38% to 79%.

“Kamala and I both get it. Health care should be a right, not a privilege in America,” Biden concluded.
