Ahead of its official launch event in India on August 14, Google’s highly anticipated Pixel 9 series has appeared on Flipkart. The listings for the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold suggest these could be the primary models available in the Indian market, contrary to earlier expectations of a four-model launch.
The Flipkart listings reveal key details about the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which are set to enhance Google’s flagship lineup. While the Pixel 9 Pro XL is anticipated to be a significant upgrade from its predecessor, with a potential price tag of around ₹1,01,000 (approximately $1,200) for the 256GB and 512GB models, the Pixel 9 Pro could start at ₹83,867 (around $999). The base Pixel 9 is expected to launch at approximately ₹75,556 (around $900).
Historically, US prices do not always align with Indian market prices, with past models such as the Pixel 8 Pro showing a substantial price increase upon arrival in India. Consequently, the Pixel 9 Pro series may see a similar price adjustment.
The Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, with significant camera upgrades including a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and a 42-megapixel front camera. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to maintain its predecessor’s pricing, offering a competitive option in the foldable market.
