BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad Alleges George Soros Behind Hindenburg, Targets Congress
BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday accused Hungarian-born US investor George Soros of being the main investor in Hindenburg Research, which recently released a report targeting SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. Prasad claimed that Soros, a known critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is using Hindenburg to undermine India’s economy and destabilize the government.
Prasad argued that Congress, in its “pathological hatred” for Modi, has developed animosity toward India itself. He accused the party of trying to crash the stock market, harming small investors, and halting economic growth in the country.
This comes after Hindenburg’s allegations that SEBI chief Buch and her husband held stakes in offshore funds linked to the Adani scandal, which the Buchs dismissed as “malicious and motivated.” The BJP contends that the report is part of a broader agenda to disrupt India’s economic progress, with Soros playing a key role in this alleged conspiracy.
Prasad’s remarks intensify the ongoing political clash over the Hindenburg report, as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi warns of risks to India’s stock market and questions SEBI’s integrity.
