Apple is set to launch its smallest computer yet, the Mac Mini M4, later this year. The new Mac Mini will feature the powerful AI-driven M4 chip, marking the first major design overhaul for the device since 2010. According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the upcoming desktop will be significantly more compact, with a size comparable to an Apple TV box.
The M4 chip will unify Apple’s Mac lineup, as all upcoming Macs will feature this generation of processors. The Mac Mini’s new design will include an aluminum shell and will be slightly taller than the current model, though still more compact overall. This smaller design is made possible by Apple’s in-house silicon, which requires less power.
The Mac Mini is expected to offer a powerful performance akin to the iPad Pro but in a much smaller package. While the current Mac Mini is priced at $599, it remains uncertain if Apple will lower the price with this new release.
Apple’s product lineup for 2024 is packed, with the Mac Mini leading the charge. The company is also set to release M4 chip-powered iMacs and MacBook Pros later this year, followed by MacBook Airs in the spring, and revamped Mac Pro and Mac Studio models in mid-2025.
The Mac Mini launch may coincide with the release of the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series and iOS 18, adding to the excitement among Apple enthusiasts worldwide.
