AAP Welcomes Manish Sisodia’s Bail as Victory for Truth.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) celebrated a significant victory on Friday as the Supreme Court granted bail to senior leader Manish Sisodia after 17 months in custody. Sisodia, a key figure in Delhi’s education revolution, was arrested in February 2023 in connection with the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy case.

Atishi, Delhi’s current Education Minister, broke down in tears as she hailed the verdict as a win for truth and the students of Delhi. “He was jailed for providing good education to poor children. Today, the truth has won,” Atishi emotionally stated. She also expressed her joy on social media, posting “Satyamev Jayate” on X (formerly Twitter).

Raghav Chadha, AAP MP, echoed her sentiments, calling Sisodia “the hero of Delhi’s education revolution” and celebrating his release as a moment of national happiness. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also praised the verdict, describing it as a “slap on the Centre’s dictatorship” and expressing hope that other party leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain, will also receive justice.

Sisodia’s arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and subsequent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for money laundering in March 2023 led to his resignation from the Delhi cabinet. His release is seen as a significant boost for AAP and a validation of the party’s commitment to educational reforms.

The AAP expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for upholding justice and looks forward to continuing its work for the people of Delhi.
