Tom Cruise to Headline Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony with Epic Stunt.
Paris, August 3, 2024 – Hollywood icon Tom Cruise is set to make a spectacular appearance at the Paris Olympic closing ceremony on August 11. In a thrilling display, Cruise will reportedly execute a high-flying stunt involving rappelling from the Stade de France roof and a pre-recorded skydiving segment over Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Games.
According to sources, Cruise, 62, will descend from the roof of the Stade de France, delivering the Olympic flag to the field. This dramatic moment will be followed by a broadcast transition to a pre-recorded sequence showcasing Cruise skydiving from France to LA, culminating in a descent onto the iconic Hollywood sign. The flag will then be passed to athletes from various sports, including cycling, skateboarding, and volleyball, symbolizing the handover to the next Olympic host city.
TMZ reports that this ambitious stunt sequence was filmed earlier in March, with images of Cruise on the Hollywood sign circulating online without initial context. The idea, spearheaded by Cruise himself, was presented to the International Olympic Committee as a dynamic way to link the Paris and LA Games.
Paris 2024’s artistic director, Thomas Jolly, promises a visually stunning and choreographed closing ceremony. “It will be a very visual, very acrobatic show with an operatic dimension,” Jolly stated, aiming to create a memorable celebration honoring the past and embracing the future.
Tom Cruise previously carried the Olympic torch in LA in 2004 and has been actively engaged with the Paris Games, attending various events.
