Gujarat Student Scores 705/720 in NEET, Fails Twice in Physics Board Exam
Ahmedabad, Gujarat – A high-achieving NEET UG candidate from Ahmedabad, who scored an impressive 705 out of 720, has stirred discussions on the education system after failing the Gujarat Board’s Class 12 physics supplementary exam twice. This student, whose NEET UG performance showcased scores of 99.89 in Physics, 99.86 in Chemistry, and 99.14 in Biology, secured a total of 705 marks. This achievement typically assures a top medical college seat. However, the same student struggled significantly in the Gujarat Board exams.
In March, she scored only 352 out of 700 marks, failing Physics with 21 marks and Chemistry with 31 marks. Despite improving her Chemistry score to 33 in the supplementary exams, she failed Physics again with just 22 marks.
This stark contrast between her stellar NEET results and poor board exam performance has sparked a debate about the education system. The student, whose father is a doctor, was enrolled in a school where attendance was not enforced, making her a ‘dummy student.’ Her primary focus remained on NEET UG preparation at a coaching center, neglecting her regular school studies.
A teacher associated with the student commented, “She has become a victim of the changes in the education system over the last few years. She is now in depression due to her results and the ongoing discussions.”
Despite her remarkable NEET success, her failure in the Gujarat Board exams has jeopardized her immediate dream of medical college admission, highlighting the challenges students face in balancing competitive exam preparation with regular schooling.
