New Video Reveals Suspicious Activity Moments Before Gunfire at Trump Rally
Washington, D.C., August 1, 2024 – A newly surfaced video from former President Donald Trump’s rally on July 13 in Pennsylvania reveals a figure moving on the roof of a building moments before shots were fired. The footage, exclusively obtained by Fox News, was recorded by James Copenhaver, one of the critically injured attendees.
The video captures a person on the roof of the American Glass Research (AGR) building at 6:08 PM, just minutes before the gunfire at 6:11 PM. The figure can be seen moving across the roof and appearing to take a position as Trump was speaking. Officials believe the assailant, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired shots shortly thereafter. A Secret Service sniper quickly neutralized Crooks, and eight shell casings were found near his body.
Crooks’ attack resulted in injuries to Copenhaver, 74, and David ‘Jake’ Dutch, 57, who have since been discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately, 50-year-old volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed. The shots aimed at Trump narrowly missed his face, grazing his ear.
FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress, revealing that Crooks had purchased a ladder but instead used mechanical equipment and vertical piping to reach the roof. Crooks carried an AR-style gun with a collapsible stock, which may explain why it went unnoticed.
Further investigation uncovered that Crooks had flown a drone over the rally, purchased 50 rounds of ammunition, and practiced shooting the day before. He also searched details about the assassination of JFK, including queries about the distance of Lee Harvey Oswald from Kennedy.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to understand how Crooks executed his plan.
