Mumbai, July 30, 2024 – In a nostalgic birthday tribute, veteran actress Saira Banu shared a touching memory of a childhood proposal from actor Sanjay Dutt. Taking to Instagram Stories, Saira posted a vintage photograph of Dilip Kumar with a young Sanjay Dutt and penned a heartfelt message.
Saira reminisced, “@duttsanjay has always been like family to me. My entire family, starting from Ammaji to Aapaji, to Sahib, and to me, we’ve watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person he is today.” She fondly recalled how Sanjay, accompanied by his late mother Nargis Dutt, would visit their home for functions. Saira shared, “I still remember when Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, and he would accompany her – this cute, good-looking kid… Nargis Ji would then shake his hands and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe?’ And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Saira Banu se shaadi karunga’ in a cute little voice. Hahahah, so adorable! I believe Sharmila Tagore and I were the top favorites of Sanju.”
Concluding her message, Saira expressed her enduring affection for Sanjay, “Many hands make light work, and we’ve all cherished being part of his journey. He holds a special place in my heart. With all my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday.”
On the professional front, Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming projects include the film “KD – The Devil,” where he stars as ‘Dhak Deva,’ set in 1970s Bangalore. He will also appear in “Ghudchadi,” releasing on JioCinema on August 9, and has joined the cast of “Housefull 5,” directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
