Mumbai-based food vlogger Anshika experienced a shocking incident when she discovered a dead insect in a burger she ordered from Burger King. The unsettling discovery was documented in a video shared on Instagram, showing the insect inside the half-eaten burger patty.
In an interview with indianexpress.com, Anshika expressed her distress and demanded compensation for the “mental agony and health suffering” she endured. She revealed that Burger King initially offered burgers or an Amazon voucher as compensation. “They were offering burgers or an Amazon voucher, but how will a voucher pay for my medical expenses?” she questioned.
Anshika also mentioned that it took the company three to four days to issue an apology. In her video, she voiced her disgust, saying, “I found a dead insect in my Burger King order today. And it just made me feel like vomiting right now, but I wanted to report this issue. Burger King, this is not acceptable.”
Following the video’s viral spread, Burger King responded by requesting patience from Anshika and promised that the concerned team would reach out to her soon.
Public reaction was swift and critical. One user urged, “Please take strict action or else we will make sure your outlet gets closed ASAP with all legal formalities.” Another suggested, “Complaint at consumer court.. complaining at store no action will take.”
This incident follows a similar recent case where a retired school principal found four dentures in a chocolate she received at a birthday party. These incidents have raised serious concerns about food safety and quality control in popular food chains.
