  • PublishedJuly 27, 2024

Mumbai, July 27, 2024 – Farhat Azam Shaikh, a Mumbai teenager who gained notoriety for performing dangerous stunts on local trains, has suffered severe injuries after a recent stunt went tragically wrong. Shaikh, who was previously featured in a viral video clinging to a moving train, has lost an arm and a leg due to an accident that occurred during a similar stunt.

The incident, which occurred on April 14 at Masjid station, was linked to a viral video posted on July 14 showing Shaikh performing stunts at Sewri station. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) discovered Shaikh in a critically injured state following the stunt, leading to his hospitalization.

The Central Railway has issued a stern warning against such reckless behavior following this incident. A case has been registered against Shaikh with the Wadala unit of the RPF. The Central Railway’s statement emphasizes the dangers of such activities: “These acts are not only illegal but life-threatening. We appeal to all passengers to avoid such unsafe stunts that endanger both the individuals involved and other passengers.”

The RPF has also called for stricter enforcement and legal action against those engaging in similar dangerous activities. The public response has been mixed, with some users calling for stricter regulations and others questioning the lack of safety measures such as platform screen doors.

The Central Railway urges all passengers to prioritize safety and respect for fellow commuters, reinforcing that stunts and unsafe practices are unacceptable on public transport.
