Kamala Harris Officially Files Nomination for US Presidential Election: Vows to Work Hard for Every Vote

Washington, D.C., July 27, 2024 – US Vice President Kamala Harris has officially filed her nomination for the upcoming presidential election, slated for November 5, 2024. In a historic move, Harris aims to become the first woman and the first Indian-American to hold the office of President of the United States.

In a post on the microblogging site X, Harris shared a picture of herself signing the official documents and expressed her commitment to her campaign. “Today, I signed the forms officially declaring my candidacy for President of the United States. I will work hard to earn every vote. And in November, our people-powered campaign will win,” she stated.

Harris’s candidacy received a significant boost with endorsements from former US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama. Barack Obama took to X to share their support, saying, “Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend Kamala Harris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.”

Harris, 59, announced her presidential bid last week, following President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the race for a second term. Her campaign promises to be a significant moment in American history, as she would not only be the first woman to assume the presidency but also the first Indian-American, the first Asian, the first Black woman, and the first person of Jamaican descent to hold the office.

While Harris is yet to be officially declared the Democratic presidential candidate, her nomination and the high-profile endorsements signal a strong and inclusive campaign ahead.
