Jennifer Aniston Criticizes JD Vance’s Comments on Childless Women in Leadership
Actress Jennifer Aniston has voiced her strong disapproval of JD Vance, Donald Trump’s running mate, over his controversial remarks regarding childless women in leadership. Vance’s comments, originally made during a 2021 interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, have resurfaced, sparking widespread backlash.
Vance had singled out Kamala Harris, the current Democratic Presidential nominee, and others, suggesting that individuals without offspring, particularly “childless cat ladies,” lack a “direct stake” in the country. “The US is being run by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too,” Vance stated. His remarks have been criticized as sexist and offensive.
Jennifer Aniston, known for her candidness about her struggles with infertility, responded on Instagram, condemning Vance’s stance. “All I can say is…Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too,” Aniston wrote.
Kamala Harris, who has two stepchildren with her husband Doug Emhoff, has also faced these criticisms. Supporters, including her stepchildren and celebrities, have defended her. Kerstin Emhoff, Harris’ stepchildren’s mother, labeled the attacks as “baseless,” emphasizing Harris’s role in their blended family.
Ella Emhoff, Harris’s stepdaughter, took to Instagram, humorously addressing the situation, while Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and talk show host Whoopi Goldberg also expressed their disapproval of Vance’s comments.
