The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a major overhaul of its examination system, leveraging cutting-edge digital technologies to combat cheating and fraud. This initiative comes in response to recent instances of malpractice in government exams.
To ensure the integrity of its examination process, the UPSC plans to incorporate Aadhaar-based fingerprint authentication and facial recognition for candidate verification. These state-of-the-art biometric technologies will enhance the accuracy and reliability of candidate identification, significantly reducing the risk of impersonation and other fraudulent activities.
In addition to biometric verification, the UPSC will deploy closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor examination centers in real-time. This advanced surveillance system will be capable of detecting suspicious activities and alerting authorities promptly, thereby strengthening the overall security of the examination process.
Further, the commission will introduce QR code scanning of e-admit cards. This technological solution will streamline the verification process, ensuring that only legitimate candidates gain entry to the examination halls.
The UPSC conducts 14 major examinations annually, including the prestigious Civil Services Examination (CSE), along with various recruitment tests and interviews for top government positions.
