Renowned actor Vicky Kaushal marked the ninth anniversary of his debut film ‘Masaan’ today. To commemorate the occasion, Vicky shared a poignant still from the critically acclaimed film on his Instagram account and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the film’s director, Neeraj Ghaywan.

In his post, Vicky wrote, “9 years. Thank you @neeraj.ghaywan #Masaan (sic).” This simple yet powerful message reflects the profound impact ‘Masaan’ has had on Vicky’s career and his deep appreciation for the director who played a pivotal role in his rise to stardom.


Released in 2015, ‘Masaan’ marked Vicky Kaushal’s debut as a male lead. The film, set against the backdrop of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, intertwines two distinct narratives that eventually converge, showcasing themes of love, loss, and redemption. The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Richa Chadha, Shweta Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, and Pankaj Tripathi, whose performances contributed to the film’s critical and commercial success.

Before his breakthrough with ‘Masaan,’ Vicky Kaushal worked as an assistant director on the film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ and took on supporting roles in films like ‘Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana’ and ‘Bombay Velvet.’ His portrayal in ‘Masaan’ garnered widespread acclaim and established him as a prominent figure in the Indian film industry.
