Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar’s Film Earns ₹15.4 Crore
Akshay Kumar’s latest release, Sarfira, continues to make waves at the box office. The film, which is a Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru, has been directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the original.
Sarfira, inspired by the life of Air Deccan Founder Captain G R Gopinath, hit theatres last Friday. As reported by Sacnilk.com, the film has accumulated over ₹15 crore within its first five days. On its opening day, Sarfira earned ₹2.5 crore, followed by ₹4.25 crore on day two, ₹5.25 crore on day three, ₹1.45 crore on day four, and ₹1.95 crore on day five, totaling ₹15.4 crore nett in India.
The film features an ensemble cast including Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas. Produced by the late Aruna Bhatia of Cape of Good Films, Suriya and Jyotika’s 2D Entertainment, and Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment, Sarfira showcases the protagonist, Vir Mhatre (played by Akshay Kumar), who dreams of making air travel accessible to the common man.
Commenting on directing both versions, Sudha Kongara stated, “Directing the same film in two languages is both a joy and a challenge. The joy comes from presenting the story to diverse audiences and witnessing different cultural nuances that bring new dimensions to the narrative.”
Sarfira continues to capture the audience’s imagination with its inspiring story and stellar performances, solidifying its place as a must-watch film this season.
