Anant Ambani, son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, tied the knot with Radhika Merchant, daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of Encore Healthcare, at Jio World Drive in Mumbai on Friday. The Ambanis hosted a lavish wedding reception for the newlyweds on Sunday, following a series of grand pre-wedding festivities.
Radhika affectionately referred to her mother-in-law, Nita Ambani, as ‘the CEO of our wedding,’ highlighting the meticulous planning and grandeur of the celebrations. The reception, held at Jio World Drive, witnessed an illustrious gathering of celebrities and dignitaries.
The star-studded event saw the presence of Kim Kardashian, Bollywood icons Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Rajinikanth. Hollywood actor John Cena, singer Nick Jonas, and Canadian artist Justin Bieber, who performed during the sangeet ceremony, also graced the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi blessed the newlyweds during the ‘Shubh Aashirvaad’ ceremony on Saturday.
Political figures such as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Union Minister Smriti Irani, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray, and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were among the notable attendees. The pre-wedding festivities, which began in March, included a three-day weekend in Jamnagar, Gujarat, attended by over 1,200 guests, including global personalities like Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Karlie Kloss, and Mark Zuckerberg. Rihanna performed her first concert in eight years during this celebration.
Radhika Merchant, a director on the board of Encore Healthcare, is an accomplished professional with experience in luxury real estate and classical dance. The couple got engaged at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, in December 2022.
The Ambani family continues the celebrations with another party for their staff on Monday, marking the conclusion of the grand wedding festivities.
