ICC Extends Global Footprint

On July 10, 2024, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) expanded its presence by launching ICC Iraq at its Global Headquarters in Paris. This addition brings the total number of ICC national committees to 92, further reflecting ICC’s global reach and its mission to amplify the voice of business worldwide.

Boosting Iraqi Business on the Global Stage

The launch event featured an ICC Iraq delegation, ICC leaders, and staff, followed by a celebration at the Iraqi Embassy in Paris. ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO highlighted the importance of this expansion amid current geo-economic and geopolitical tensions, emphasizing the value ICC Iraq will bring to Iraqi businesses and the broader economy.

Supporting Business Objectives

ICC Iraq will contribute to ICC’s institutional goals of fostering peace, prosperity, and opportunity through local commissions on arbitration and ADR, digital economy, intellectual property, and trade and investment.

Leadership and Vision

The founding members of ICC Iraq include Abdulrazaq Al-Zuheere, ICC Iraq Honorary Chair and President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (FICC); Mohsin Al Hamed, Chair of ICC Iraq and Al-Asriya Group; and Ahmed Alyasiri, ICC Iraq Secretary General and International Organisation Consultant at FICC.

Shaping Global Policies

Through its national committees, ICC members influence policies and alert governments to international business concerns, ensuring that the voice of global commerce is heard and acted upon.
