Terror Strikes Army Convoy in J&K’s Kathua, 2 Soldiers Wounded in Encounter

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, terrorists launched an attack on an Indian Army vehicle in the Machedi area of Billawar, resulting in a gunbattle where two soldiers sustained injuries. This incident follows recent successes by security forces, including the elimination of six terrorists in Kulgam. J&K DGP RR Swain highlighted these operations as significant achievements in enhancing security measures and gathering crucial human intelligence against terrorism. Brigadier Prithviraj Chauhan noted the impact on Hizbul-Mujahideen in South Kashmir, underscoring the Army’s efforts in counter-terrorism operations.

The Army paid tribute to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, who lost their lives during the operations. These developments underscore ongoing challenges in the region, where recent months have seen a rise in terrorist activities. Last month, three terrorists were also neutralized in Gandoh, Bhaderwah sector of Doda district, reflecting the persistent security concerns in Jammu and Kashmir.
