Bajaj Auto Unveils World’s First CNG-Powered Bike, Freedom 125, Priced at Rs 95,000
Bajaj Auto has launched the world’s first CNG motorcycle, the Freedom 125, at an ex-showroom price of Rs 95,000 in India. The bike features a unique twin-tank setup, accommodating both petrol and CNG, with the CNG tank secured by circular braces below the petrol tank.
Unveiled by Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj and Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari in Pune, the Freedom 125 offers flexible fuel options, with separate switches for petrol and CNG.
Powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine, the bike delivers 9.5 PS of maximum power and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. Bajaj Auto claims the Freedom 125 can achieve an impressive mileage of 213 kilometers per kilo of CNG. The bike will be available in three variants.
