Modi’s Conduct Advice to NDA MPs: Opposition’s Frustration with Third-Term PM
  • PublishedJuly 2, 2024

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged NDA MPs to follow parliamentary rules and enhance their expertise in civic matters related to their constituencies. Addressing a meeting, Modi highlighted the Opposition’s frustration, noting that he is the first non-Congress leader to serve three consecutive terms as Prime Minister.

Modi emphasized the importance of thoroughly studying issues before making media statements. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju shared that Modi encouraged MPs to visit the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya to learn about the contributions of all Prime Ministers, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Modi.

Modi advised MPs to prioritize national interests and effectively present constituency matters in Parliament. He also stressed the need to develop expertise in key issues like water, environment, and social areas.

Rijiju contrasted Modi’s guidance with Rahul Gandhi’s recent controversial speech, which disrupted the Lok Sabha. Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah demanded an apology from Gandhi for allegedly portraying Hindus as violent. Rijiju reiterated that NDA MPs should not emulate Gandhi’s conduct.

Modi’s guidance serves as a “mantra” for MPs, especially first-timers, to uphold parliamentary democracy and conduct. This advice comes amid heightened political tensions, with Modi’s leadership style and Gandhi’s accusations drawing significant attention.
