Hemant Soren Vows to Defeat BJP in Jharkhand Assembly Elections
  • PublishedJune 29, 2024

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren, recently released on bail in a money laundering case, has pledged to “wipe out” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming state assembly election. Speaking to JMM workers in Ranchi, Soren accused the BJP of destroying India’s social fabric and said that the party was “daydreaming” about winning in Jharkhand.

Soren, who was arrested in January in connection with an alleged land scam, emphasized that he was not guilty and vowed to lead the state again. He urged party members to prepare for potentially early elections and declared that it was time to deliver a decisive blow to the BJP in Jharkhand. Soren’s remarks followed the BJP securing eight out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 general polls, with the JMM winning three.
