Dharmendra Pradhan Accuses Congress of Seeking Chaos in NEET Controversy
  • PublishedJune 29, 2024

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan criticized Congress over the NEET controversy, alleging that the party seeks chaos and confusion rather than constructive discussion. This statement follows Rahul Gandhi’s call for a respectful parliamentary debate on the NEET issue. Pradhan claimed that Congress is avoiding meaningful dialogue and obstructing institutional processes, despite the President acknowledging challenges in the examination system.

Pradhan highlighted reforms in the National Testing Agency (NTA), including new leadership under former ISRO Chairman K. Radhakrishnan and the formation of a high-powered committee to enhance data security and review the NTA’s operations. The minister assured that new NEET-PG dates would be announced soon.

Pradhan’s remarks came after Congress-led opposition protests in Parliament demanding a discussion on NEET irregularities, including alleged question paper leaks following the NEET-UG exam on May 5. The government has since handed over the case to the CBI.
