Massive Advance Sales
Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, is breaking advance ticket sales records ahead of its release. The film has sold over 1.4 million tickets worth ₹38 crore, with projections suggesting advance sales could reach ₹50 crore.
Box Office Projections
Industry tracker Sacnilk projects a domestic debut of ₹120-140 crore and an overseas debut of ₹60 crore, aiming for a worldwide opening of ₹180-200 crore. This could make Kalki the third Indian film to surpass ₹200 crore on its opening day, following RRR and Baahubali 2.
Regional Ticket Pricing
Andhra Pradesh has allowed temporary ticket price hikes for the film. Single screens have seen a ₹75 hike, while multiplexes have increased prices by ₹125. Despite this, ticket prices in Hyderabad remain significantly lower than in Delhi and Mumbai. The most expensive tickets in Hyderabad are ₹505, compared to up to ₹2200 in Delhi for Pathaan last year.
Mumbai and Beyond
In Mumbai, the highest ticket price is ₹2000 at PVR’s Jio World Drive. Despite cheaper prices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, these regions alone have contributed over ₹27 crore in advance sales.
