Newly leaked photos from James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film have ignited excitement among fans, offering a glimpse into a pivotal moment for Clark Kent’s superhero journey. The images capture David Corenswet adorned in the iconic Superman costume, visibly restrained with his hands bound behind his back, as he is escorted by military personnel towards Metropolis City Hall. Speculation abounds about the storyline, particularly concerning a mysterious figure seen alongside Superman, sporting a costume marked with the letter ‘U’ and concealed behind a black mask. The character’s identity sparks theories ranging from Ultraman, Superman’s evil counterpart from Earth-3, to Ulysses (Neil Quinn), possibly aligned with military interests against Superman.
Joining Corenswet in this DC Extended Universe installment are Rachel Brosnahan as the intrepid reporter Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult portraying Superman’s notorious foe, Lex Luthor. Also featured are Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald in roles as Daily Planet journalists Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively. Gunn’s vision for the film promises to delve into untold chapters of Clark Kent’s early life, with a diverse ensemble cast including Maria Gabriela de Faria, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, and Nathan Fillion.
Produced by Warner Bros., the movie is slated for release on July 11, 2025, and aims to redefine Superman’s narrative within the cinematic universe.
