Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, has implicated a former aide of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak investigation. Sinha alleged that Tejashwi Yadav’s personal secretary arranged accommodations for Sikander Kumar Yadavendu, an engineer allegedly involved in the leak. During a press conference in Patna, Sinha stated that the bookings were made on May 1 and May 4 by Pritam Kumar, who previously served as Tejashwi Yadav’s aide during his ministerial tenure.
Sinha emphasized the use of the term “mantri ji” by Pritam Kumar, indicating his role in facilitating the accommodations. He called upon Tejashwi Yadav to clarify Pritam Kumar’s current status and the relationship with Sikander Kumar Yadavendu, who was described as having connections to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family.
The controversy surrounding NEET-UG 2024 escalated after a confession letter from Sikander Kumar Yadavendu surfaced, detailing his involvement in facilitating accommodations and alleged malpractices. The Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has already arrested several individuals, including examinees and their associates, in connection with the case.
The allegations have sparked widespread scrutiny and demands for transparency in the examination process, highlighting concerns over fairness and integrity in competitive exams.
