Security Forces Neutralize Terrorists Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit to Srinagar

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir intensified operations in preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Srinagar, resulting in a significant encounter in Sopore where two terrorists were killed. The operation, conducted jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, unfolded following a cordon and search operation in the Hadipora area of Sopore. The encounter ensued when terrorists opened fire, prompting a swift response from the security forces. This proactive approach aimed to preempt any potential security threats ahead of PM Modi’s arrival on June 20.

PM Modi is scheduled to participate in the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and inaugurate several developmental projects during his visit. The region has been placed under heightened security measures, evident from the recent operations targeting terrorist activities.

In addition to the Sopore encounter, the Jammu and Kashmir Police made significant arrests related to recent acts of terrorism, including the apprehension of an individual involved in the Reasi terror attack and the recovery of an AK-47 rifle linked to another incident. These efforts underscore the authorities’ commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region amidst preparations for the Prime Minister’s engagements.

The operations reflect ongoing efforts to stabilize the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring a safe environment for public events and developmental initiatives. As anticipation builds for PM Modi’s visit, security remains a top priority, with authorities vigilant against any potential disruptions.
