From Punjab to Pan-India: ‘Kudi Haryane Val Di’ Promises Cultural Fusion
The title of the Punjabi movie itself sparks curiosity. According to lead actor Ammy Virk, “Kudi Haryane Val Di” is not just about Haryana but also has a broad appeal across India. “In fact, it has pan-India appeal,” he asserts, reflecting optimistic aspirations.
Ammy Virk praises his co-star Sonam Bajwa, calling her performance in the film her best to date, which is remarkable considering her extensive body of work.
Sonam Bajwa, on her part, acknowledges that this role challenged her the most in her 10-year career. “It wasn’t a Hindi film or a Haryanvi web series where we were all speaking the same language,” she explains. “Playing a Haryanvi girl after a decade in Punjabi cinema was daunting due to audience expectations. But life is about taking risks,” she adds philosophically.
She also commends Ammy Virk’s acting prowess, describing him as effortlessly talented. “Ammy is such an effortless actor; he makes everything look so easy,” she praises. “Whether it’s an emotional scene or comedy, he excels in every aspect. Apart from our friendship, I’m a huge fan of his as an actor.”
Seema Kaushal, who plays Ammy’s mother in the movie, raises expectations further by applauding Sonam’s dedication. “Sonam has given her all to this movie. She immersed herself in the character, and that dedication shines through,” she remarks.
Yashpal Sharma, portraying Sonam’s father, expresses joy about the filmmaking experience, comparing it favorably to many Bollywood projects. “This movie not only has masala (spice) but also rich content. It’s a light-hearted comedy with the right mix of emotion and romance,” he describes enthusiastically.
Veteran actor Yograj Singh, reflecting on his experience, admits he had much to learn from Ammy and the team. “Seventy percent of the comedy in the movie comes from Yograj,” Ammy notes appreciatively.
The team of “Kudi Haryane Val Di” showers praise on producer Pawan Gill for his deep involvement and care. Gill emphasizes the film’s theme of Haryana-Punjab cultural affinity, noting their shared bloodline and outlook.
Reflecting on Ammy Virk’s persona, Seema Kaushal describes him as remarkably humble despite his stardom. “Even as a big star, he greets everyone on set, cares about their well-being, and enjoys treating everyone to food,” she shares warmly.
Kaushal also offers insights into working with Yograj Singh, initially intimidating but ultimately revealed as down-to-earth. “The entire team was delightful,” she concludes.
Meanwhile, Honey Mattu highlights director Rakesh Dhawan’s visionary storytelling, assuring the audience of an engaging experience in “Kudi Haryane Val Di.”
