Supreme Court Seeks NTA Response Over Alleged NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak
The Supreme Court issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday, seeking a response to a plea demanding a fresh NEET-UG 2024 examination due to alleged paper leaks and irregularities. The plea, filed by 10 NEET candidates, claims that the exam’s integrity was compromised, violating Article 14 of the Constitution by giving some candidates undue advantage.
The vacation bench, comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, emphasized the need for answers, stating, “Sanctity has been affected, we need answers.” Despite the allegations, the court refused to stay the ongoing counseling process for admissions to MBBS, BDS, and other courses, warning that further arguments could lead to the plea’s dismissal.
The matter is set for further hearing on July 8. The NEET-UG 2024, conducted by the NTA for admissions to medical and AYUSH courses, took place on May 5, with results announced on June 4.
