New Delhi – The Modi 3.0 administration saw its Union Cabinet Ministers begin assuming charges for their respective ministries on Tuesday, following their allotment on Monday after the first Cabinet meeting.

Former bureaucrat Ashwini Vaishnaw took on his roles as Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Railways, while former diplomat S Jaishankar assumed the role of External Affairs Minister for a second consecutive term. The Cabinet maintains a blend of continuity and change, with senior leaders retaining their previous portfolios, ensuring stability in key areas such as Defence, Home, Finance, and External Affairs.

Notable continuations include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar. Nitin Gadkari remains the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, while PM Modi oversees the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, the Department of Atomic Energy, and the Department of Space.

New appointments feature former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in agriculture and rural development, and BJP president JP Nadda returning to the health ministry. Manohar Lal Khattar assumes roles in Housing and Urban Affairs and Power.

Other key positions include:

  • Ashwini Vaishnaw: Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology.
  • Mansukh Mandaviya: Minister of Labour and Employment, and Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Pralhad Joshi: Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy.
  • Jyotiraditya Scindia: Minister of Communications, and Development of North Eastern Region.
  • Gajendra Singh Shekhawat: Minister of Culture and Tourism.
  • Kiren Rijiju: Minister of Parliamentary and Minority Affairs.

Allies from the NDA coalition also took significant roles, with Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu (TDP) as Minister of Civil Aviation and Chirag Paswan (LJP) as Minister of Food Processing Industries.

The swearing-in ceremony on Sunday was an impressive event where 71 ministers officially joined the Modi 3.0 cabinet, signaling a strong blend of experience and fresh perspectives to lead India forward.
