OpenAI’s ChatGPT Faces Outages, Users Report Inaccessibility

OpenAI’s widely-used AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT, is experiencing outages, leaving many users unable to access the platform or generate responses. Reports suggest that some users cannot access the website at all, while others are encountering issues with generating responses or finding the enter button unresponsive.

According to Downdetector, a platform for real-time problem and outage monitoring, users started experiencing issues with ChatGPT around 12 PM IST, with the highest number of outages reported approximately half an hour later.

Approximately 81 percent of users have reported issues with ChatGPT, with 14 percent encountering problems with the website and 5 percent facing issues with the app.

In response to the outage, netizens are turning to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to check if others are experiencing similar problems. Memes and humorous responses have also emerged amidst the frustration of users unable to access the chatbot.

OpenAI’s status page confirms the outage, stating that ChatGPT is unavailable for some users. The company initiated an investigation into the issue at 12:51 PM IST and later identified the problem, working towards a solution. As of the latest update at 2:32 PM IST, OpenAI is still actively working to resolve the issue and restore full functionality to ChatGPT.
