An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi was evacuated on Tuesday morning after a bomb threat. The plane was moved to an isolated area and all passengers were safely evacuated using emergency exits. A bomb disposal team is currently investigating the aircraft.
This incident comes after a series of recent hoaxes in India. The day before, Mumbai received a bomb threat targeting the Taj Hotel and the city’s airport. There were also bomb threats towards a McDonald’s in Mumbai and schools in Delhi and other cities. None of these threats resulted in finding any explosives.
IndiGo airlines says they are following all safety protocols and will update the situation after the investigation is complete. The number of passengers on the flight is not yet known.
