Teen Spends ₹48,000 on Alcohol Before Fatal Porsche Crash in Pune
Pune Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar reported that a 17-year-old son of a prominent builder spent ₹48,000 on alcohol at Cosie pub on Saturday night before moving to Blak Mariott. The teenager, driving a Porsche Taycan without a number plate, crashed into a motorcycle early Sunday, killing two IT professionals, Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Costa.
CCTV footage confirms the group’s alcohol consumption. The teen was taken for a medical test, and his blood sample is pending forensic analysis. Kumar stated that Section 304 of the IPC is being applied, indicating knowledge of the potential for causing death.
The teen’s father and three hotel executives were detained for serving alcohol to a minor. Despite allegations of preferential treatment, Kumar insists the police are following the law. Politician Sanjay Raut has demanded Kumar’s dismissal, alleging special treatment for the teen during custody.
The Juvenile Justice Board granted the accused bail shortly after his arrest.
