Singapore Airlines reported severe turbulence on a London-Singapore flight, resulting in one fatality and numerous injuries. The incident occurred over the Andaman Sea, with flight tracking data indicating a rapid descent of over 1,800 meters (6,000 feet) in just five minutes. Amid stormy weather, the aircraft was diverted to Bangkok, where emergency crews attended to injured passengers.
A video shared on social media captured the moment of turbulence, showing the cabin violently shaking as passengers held onto their seats tightly. Visuals from inside the plane depicted a scene of horror, with disheveled cabins, dangling oxygen masks, and injured flight attendants.
The turbulence incident, which occurred on a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300, left 30 others injured. The footage and images circulating on social media underscored the intensity of the turbulence and the distress experienced by passengers during the ordeal.
