IPL 2024: Rain Forces Abandonment of RR vs KKR Match, Rajasthan Royals Finish Third

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) concluded their IPL 2024 league stage in third place after their final match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, was abandoned due to rain on Sunday, May 19.

Rajasthan, with 16 points, needed a win to secure a top-two finish and a direct spot in the qualifiers. However, following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s victory over Punjab Kings earlier in the day, RR’s only path to the top two required a win against KKR. With the match canceled, Rajasthan now faces Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the eliminator.
