Bollywood Stars and Politicians Turn Out Early to Vote in Mumbai’s Lok Sabha Elections

In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, prominent Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, and Rajkummar Rao, along with Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, were among the early voters in Mumbai on Monday, May 20. These celebrities joined several others in casting their votes early morning as voting commenced at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm across 49 constituencies in six states and two union territories.

As the polling progressed, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge urged citizens to vote for love over hatred and against issues like unemployment and inflation. Alongside the Bollywood personalities, notable figures like RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran also exercised their franchise early in the day.

Expressing their sentiments after voting, Akshay Kumar emphasized the importance of a developed and strong India, urging all Indians to consider what is right for them and exercise their voting rights. Similarly, Farhan Akhtar stressed the need for good governance and a government that serves all citizens.

Amidst the voting process, political leaders including Congress leaders Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra encouraged voters to come out in large numbers. Meanwhile, Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker shared a message on social media, urging citizens to vote as it is their duty and right.

Veteran actor Shubha Khote, accompanied by her daughter Bhavana Balsavar, also cast their votes, emphasizing the importance of voting for the right candidate to ensure necessary changes in society.
