Death Threats Against Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee Found in West Bengal

Authorities in Uluberia, West Bengal, discovered a handwritten poster containing death threats against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee. The poster, written in green ink on white cloth, was found at a construction site in the Fuleswar area.

The threatening message stated, “I will kill Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek by hitting them with a car. Everyone will light the lamps after that. I have a secret letter.”

The poster, hanging on a stack of bricks, sparked concerns ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 20 in Uluberia. Police are investigating the incident to determine whether it was a prank or if any individual or group is involved.

With West Bengal gearing up for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for May 20, this discovery has raised security concerns. Seven constituencies, including Bangaon (SC), Barrackpore, Howrah, Uluberia, Sreerampur, Hooghly, and Arambag, will be up for voting during this phase.

Authorities are taking the matter seriously, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to ensure the safety of political leaders and citizens during the election period.
