Hollywood actor Josh Brolin has gracefully acknowledged his absence from the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine, despite his previous desire to return as Cable in the Deadpool franchise. In an interview with The Playlist, Brolin confirmed that he will not be reprising his role as the time-traveling super soldier Cable, expressing his acceptance of the situation with humor.
While initially expressing enthusiasm about being listed on IMDb for Deadpool & Wolverine, Brolin candidly admitted his disappointment at not being part of the project. Reflecting on his experience with Marvel, he described the complexities of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and his fondness for portraying Cable in Deadpool 2.
Brolin’s journey as Cable began in Deadpool 2, where he teamed up with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool to form the X-Force. Despite initially signing on for three more Deadpool movies, Disney’s acquisition of Fox altered the franchise’s trajectory.
Nevertheless, Brolin harbors no ill feelings towards the makers of Deadpool and Marvel Studios. He expressed excitement about the expansion of the Deadpool world and eagerly anticipates Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine is the third installment in the Ryan Reynolds-led saga, set to unleash Wade Wilson on a new adventure alongside an ensemble cast. The film is slated for release on July 26, promising another thrilling chapter in the Marvel universe.
