PM Modi to Campaign in Gujarat Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a two-day campaign tour in his home state, Gujarat, starting May 1, ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on May 7. During his visit, PM Modi plans to cover 11 Lok Sabha constituencies and deliver speeches at six public meetings. Additionally, reports suggest that he may hold a roadshow in Vadodara.

The voting for 25 out of 26 constituencies in Gujarat is slated for the third phase of elections, with the exception of Surat, where BJP’s Mukesh Dalal has been declared an unopposed winner by the Election Commission. This decision came after the nominations of two Congress candidates were rejected, leading to BJP’s victory due to withdrawals by other candidates, predominantly independents.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently campaigned in Gujarat, advocating for BJP’s continuation in power, emphasizing the party’s commitment to combat terrorism and Naxalism under PM Modi’s leadership.

On the opposing front, the Congress has been actively campaigning in Gujarat, with leaders like Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi rallying support for their candidates. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra recently held a public meeting in Dharampur, while Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Patan, showcasing the party’s efforts to secure votes in the upcoming elections.
