JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna Suspended Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations
JD(S) Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna has been suspended from the party following allegations of sexual abuse that have sparked a scandal in Karnataka’s political landscape. Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has been accused by the ruling Congress of sexually abusing numerous women, with explicit videos purportedly featuring him surfacing in his parliamentary constituency, Hassan.
In response to the allegations, Revanna stated on his social media account that he was not in Bengaluru to attend the Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) probe. He asserted that he has communicated with the CID Bangalore through his advocate, expressing confidence that the truth will prevail soon. Revanna also shared his lawyer’s response to the SIT notice, requesting seven days to return to India and appear before the probe team.
Reportedly, Revanna left India after the emergence of the alleged videos and is currently in Germany. The Congress-led Karnataka government has formed an SIT to investigate the serious allegations.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused former PM HD Deve Gowda of assisting his grandson in fleeing the country, alleging that the BJP facilitated Revanna’s visa. Siddaramaiah made these statements while addressing a rally in Karnataka.
The scandal involving Prajwal Revanna has sent shockwaves through Karnataka’s political circles, prompting a swift response from authorities and raising questions about the involvement of influential figures in the case.
