“Putin Displays Captured American and British Tanks in Moscow Exhibition”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has showcased a collection of American and British tanks in Moscow, including vehicles captured on the Ukrainian frontline, as a demonstration of Russian military strength. These tanks, adorned with red banners proclaiming “Our victory is inevitable,” are part of a month-long exhibition coinciding with Moscow’s Red Square Victory Day Parade on May 9.
Among the displayed vehicles is the British Saxon armoured personnel carrier, believed to have been supplied to Ukraine in 2015. The exhibition aims to glorify Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with some tanks featuring British and US flags.
Ukraine, which suffered significant losses during World War Two, condemns Russia’s narrative as an attempt to justify aggression. Despite facing challenges in Ukraine and losing tanks, Russia continues to reinforce its frontline with reserves and increase defense spending.
In a separate incident, militants attacked a police checkpoint in Russia’s North Caucasus region, resulting in two officers’ deaths and injuries to four others. This attack follows a similar incident a week earlier, highlighting ongoing security concerns in the region.
